After a long period of alpha testing Image Line finally approves the native FL Studio for Mac for entering its beta phase.
If you’ve ever tried an alpha version of FL Studio for Mac then this will be a big improvement. We’d almost say to drop your Windows PC and fully go the OS X route (don’t do this just yet).
- OS X version 10.11 or later
If you have a registered version of the software authorising it on your Mac is as simple as clicking on the ‘?’ in the menu and then ‘About’. Enter the username and password with which you normally authenticate at Image Line’s website and you should be set. Alternatively you can use the .reg-file under your Image Line account and follow the instructions here.
There are a couple of things not working still, but planned to be implemented during the beta phase:
- AU plugin support
- Blood Overdrive
- Edison Denoise tool
- FL Studio Mobile
- Fruity DrumSynth Live
- Fruity Scratcher
- Wave Traveller
And some things that will definitely not see the light in any Mac version:
- Fruity LSD
- Fruity Slayer
- Razer Chroma
- Soundfont Player
- Wasp & Wasp XT
Also good to note is that the Mac version will be 64-bit ONLY, following suit in Apple’s decision of dropping 32-bit support on their operating systems.
